  1. Entries for judging will be accepted on Thursday before Indian Market. Please check your packet or call the SWAIA offices for receiving times as they may change from year to year. Bring entries to the designated Receiving location. You must check in at the ARTIST REGISTRATION TABLE. Entries will NOT be accepted after the closing time posted in the artist packet, no exceptions can be made. COME EARLY! Judging will take place Friday.

  2. Only artists who are assigned a booth may submit items for judging, including children of exhibitors, 17 years and under. To be eligible for awards, items must have been made during the last two years and be the sole property of the exhibitor.

  3. The exhibitor, a family member or friend may enter the exhibitor's work for judging. The application, including the retail value must be complete. A letter from the artist must accompany the entry. Mail-in entries are not allowed. Dealers or gallery representatives may not enter artwork for the artist.

  4. Entries for judging are limited to (2) items per person. All items entered for judging must be for sale. Any item entered for judging:

    1. Must be signed or hallmarked. Cast editions, graphics and photographs must also include the edition size and number.
    2. Must NOT be sold before opening of Market on Saturday; all sales must take place in your booth.
    3. Must NOT have been commissioned.
    4. Must NOT be the property of, or consigned by anyone else.
    5. Must NOT have been entered for judging in a prior SWAIA Indian Market.

  5. Joint or Collaborative Entries: Any item made by more than one artist (limited to 3 artists), can be entered for judging if each artist is an approved Market participant. All names must appear on the entry form. The item counts as one entry item per each artist.

  6. SWAIA will not accept: a) items of excess value, b) items that are cracked or broken, c) fragile items or those requiring special handling or displays, d) culturally identified sensitive material, and e) mannequins or display items (such as cases or stands).

  8. In the event of loss or damage to an article entered for judging, compensation will be determined by an independent appraiser selected by SWAIA. The damaged article must be inspected by the appraiser.

  9. Submitting a piece for consideration for judging to SWAIA does not create rights, guarantees, or promises that the piece will be selected as a winner in any category.

  10. All items must be picked up on the Saturday morning of Indian Market between 5:30AM and 9AM. SWAIA is not responsible for any items after that time.

  11. Award winning items will be given two ribbons. When an item is sold, the duplicate ribbon will be kept by the artist and must not be placed on any other item. The original will go to the purchaser.
