The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts, a non-profit organization, is an advocate for native American arts and cultures (particularly those in the Southwest). SWAIA creates economic and cultural opportunities for Native American artists by: producing and promoting the Santa Fe Indian Market as the finest Indian art event in the world, cultivating excellence and innovation across traditional and non-traditional art forms, and developing programs and Events that support, promote, and honor Native artists year-round.

Every August, the Santa Fe Indian Market brings over a thousand of the most gifted Native American artists from across the United States together with visitors and collectors from around the world to Santa Fe, New Mexico's historic downtown plaza. The outdoor weekend-long exhibition and celebration of Native art is the world's largest and most highly acclaimed Native American arts marketplace. Santa Fe Indian Market showcases the excellence of generations of Native artists, from time-honored traditions to innovative contemporary art.
